A historical page recovered from the previous website: it accompanied the issue of “InSièMe” published in memory of Fr Luigi.
Dear friends, we have made this page so that this latest issue of “InSièMe”, produced on the death of Fr Luigi, can be read from anywhere. Why a new issue after 40 years?
The reason was set out in the first article, “Dear readers”, on page 3 of this new issue…
Ours is a debt of gratitude towards Father Luigi. With this issue we wanted to pay tribute to him, remembering the many years of his life he devoted to us.
We wanted to remember, to grasp the meaning of a life given away…
But there is another reason… The same one that 40 years ago drove us to keep this newspaper alive issue after issue… And that reason is you, our readers! Especially the many emigrants who from these pages received the small and large news of everyday life in our Oliveri… Back then we collected your addresses and posted each issue; there was no internet, no email, and beyond the rare and costly phone calls and letters from loved ones, the little paper was often the only source of news about Oliveri…
With this last issue we would like to give everyone the chance to read the account of how loved and respected this priest was, who gave his life to this community.
And to reach this goal we ask for your help, each one of you.
Please share the electronic edition of this newspaper over the internet, by email, on Facebook, on WhatsApp… to anyone from Oliveri now living far away… you can download it from here
Below you will also find all the other 28 issues published.
And this will be your way of paying tribute to Fr Luigi, to this holy priest!
