Dear married couples, through a special gift of the Holy Spirit, Christ makes you share in his spousal love, making you a sign of his love for the Church: a faithful and total love. If you are able to welcome this gift, renewing your \u00abyes\u00bb each day in faith, with the strength that comes from the grace of the Sacrament, your family too will live by God's love, on the model of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Dear families, ask often in prayer for the help of the Virgin Mary and of Saint Joseph, that they may teach you to welcome God's love as they welcomed it. Your vocation is not easy to live, especially today, but love is a wonderful reality, the only force that can truly transform the cosmos, the world. Before you stands the witness of so many families who point out the ways to grow in love: to maintain a constant relationship with God and to share in the life of the Church, to cultivate dialogue, to respect the other's point of view, to be ready to serve, to be patient with the faults of others, to know how to forgive and to ask forgiveness, to overcome any conflicts with intelligence and humility, to agree on the guidelines for bringing up children, to be open to other families, attentive to the poor, responsible in civil society. These are all elements that build up the family. Live them with courage, certain that, in the measure in which, with the support of divine grace, you live love for one another and for all, you will become a living Gospel, a true domestic Church (cf. Apostolic Exhort. <em> Familiaris consortio<\/em>, 49). I would also like to say a word to those faithful who, while sharing the Church's teachings on the family, are marked by painful experiences of failure and separation. Know that the Pope and the Church stand by you in your struggle.
